Dr. Shaik Farid Abdull Wahab is the head of the department and senior consultant emergency physician at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia. He obtained his medical degree (M.D.) and Master of Emergency (MMED Emerg) from USM. He completed his emergency ultrasound fellowship from Massachusetts General Hospital - Harvard University. His current post is president of the College of Emergency Physicians Malaysia. He was the immediate past chairman of the Special Conjoint Committee of Emergency Medicine Malaysia He was appointed as Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship program at USM in 2016.
He is currently also the Director of international training for the Society of Critical Care and Emergency Sonography Malaysia (SUCCES). He has been an honorary visiting consultant to Southern Philippines Medical Center since 2017. His current field of interest is point-of-care ultrasound and ergonomics in medicine. Also, an outdoor enthusiast with involvement as President of Wilderness and Austere Medicine Malaysia Society and founder and advisor to Aquatic Life Support Society Malaysia.
