Shahla Ali, MD is a double board-certified (ABPN, ABPM) interventional Psychiatrist with 15+ years of extensive experience in treating common Psychiatric conditions including depression, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, ADD, Treatment-resistant Depression, anxiety, bipolar and Complex Substance Use Disorders. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Preventive Medicine for specializing in Addiction Medicine.
Dr. Ali graduated from the prestigious institute of Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan, and finished her residency training at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN. She has served as the Chief Resident and later as an adjunct faculty member at Meharry Medical College for 2 years. She is a seasoned physician who has successfully treated thousands of patients in her outpatient practice as well as in many well-known hospitals including Private, state, and federal facilities. She has a special connection with the veteran community. After graduating, Dr. Ali has practiced at various hospitals including Baylor Healthcare System, Middle TN Mental Health Institute, Department of Veterans Affairs, VA North Texas Health Care System, Greenhouse Residential Treatment and Department of Veterans Affairs, and Tennessee Valley Healthcare Systems. Dr. Ali serves our community relentlessly. She does not let hurdles or "red tape" stand in her way when it comes to her service.
Dr. Ali cares deeply about this profession and patient recovery is her top priority. She has a conservative approach to medication and prescribes only when needed after careful assessment of each situation. Dr. Ali is an interventionist which means she is well-experienced and skilled in using modern treatment modalities like Transcranial magnetic stimulation and Esketamine treatments.
Dr. Ali has also given CME talks at many scientific societies including the American Psychiatric Association Annual Convention and served on the Medical Advisory Board for different health care companies. Dr. Shahla Ali regularly updates her knowledge evidenced by being a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
