Shahid Merchant DM, MD (Med), DNB, FSCAI

Dr. Shahid Merchant has more than 25 years of experience in the field of Interventional Cardiology. He has been trained extensively in Invasive Cardiology at various renowned centers in the world. He worked as a Fellow in 1989 in France with world-renowned Interventional Cardiologist Prof. Alain Cribier, the innovator of the percutaneous valve. He also worked as a Fellow in the Cath Lab at the Massachusetts General Hospital & Harvard Medical School with Prof. Igor Palacios and learned the art of treating complex cardiac cases. He has done pioneering work in the field of Perfusion Balloon Angioplasty and Stents.

At present, Dr. Merchant is actively involved in Carotid Stenting, Renal Angioplasty and treating multi-vessel Coronary Artery disease with Medicated Stents, Soluble Stents & complex intervention, below-knee Drug Eluting Stents for diabetic foot and TAVI (Transfemoral Aortic Valve Implants).

Dr. Merchant has participated and presented papers in various national and international conferences in India, USA, France, Italy, Africa, China and Dubai. He regularly conducts live Angioplasty workshops and lectures in Interventional Cardiology in India and around the world.
