Dr. Shah Ali Ahmed, MD, is a Pediatric Critical Care Fellow at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, where he provides advanced care for critically ill infants and children in a high-acuity academic intensive care setting. His clinical interests include the management of acute pediatric emergencies, critical illness, and multidisciplinary team-based care in the pediatric ICU.
Dr. Ahmed completed his pediatric residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in New York, where he also served as Chief Resident, demonstrating leadership in resident education, clinical operations, and quality improvement initiatives. During residency, he gained extensive experience caring for diverse and medically complex pediatric populations.
Before his U.S. training, Dr. Ahmed completed postgraduate pediatric training at Aga Khan University and earned his FCPS in Pediatrics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan. His early training included a strong focus on pediatric emergency medicine, child health research, and simulation-based education.
Dr. Ahmed has pursued additional specialized training in pediatric emergency and critical care, including Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support (PFCCS), Pediatric Emergency Medicine coursework, and instructor-level training in emergency care through international organizations. His background reflects a strong commitment to education, systems-based care, and improving outcomes for critically ill children, particularly in resource-limited settings.
