Sergio D. Bergese, MD, is a Professor of Neurological Surgery at The Stony Brook Medicine. Dr. Bergese is the Chief of Neuroanesthesia and Director of Clinical Research at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He serves as Director of the Neuroanesthesia Fellowship and the Clinical Neurological Research at the Ohio State University Medical Center.

Dr. Bergese earned his medical degree from the National University of Cordoba in Argentina. He completed an internship in the Department of Surgery at the Italian Hospital in Cordoba, Argentina. Dr. Bergese completed his fellowship and residency in Surgery at The Ohio State University followed by a residency in Anesthesiology.

Dr. Bergese is a member of several professional societies, including the American Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Society of Neurological Anesthesia and Critical Care. He has presented at over 150 lectures and Grand Rounds throughout the country and has co-authored over 100 abstracts. Dr. Bergese is on the editorial board for the Journal of Neurological Anesthesiology and the Ibnosina Journal of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
