Dr. Sergio Castro studied medicine and psychiatry at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where he began exploring the factors that influence mental health. He subsequently earned a master's degree in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Pittsburgh, delving into how technology and data can overcome barriers in mental health care. Since 2020, he has complemented his clinical practice with training in psychoanalysis at the Colombian Institute of Psychoanalysis, adopting a contemporary perspective that combines classical foundations with new theories.

His background includes work as a researcher and professor in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, the development of the DIADA project, recognized for its impact on mental health in Colombia, more than 10 years as a psychotherapist in private practice, and more than 8 years in the Equilibrio Program, specializing in eating disorders.

In addition to his clinical practice, he has worked as a clinical supervisor, developing critical thinking and analytical skills in psychiatry residents and students, necessary to address the challenges of modern psychiatry. For the past eight years, he has also collaborated with the Equilibrio Program, which specializes in eating disorders. He works with patients, parents, and caregivers to address these issues from a holistic perspective.
