Selma Aybek

Prof. Dr. medical Selma Aybek is Senior Physician in Neuropsychosomatics, Inselspital Bern. After studying human medicine at the University of Lausanne, she completed her specialist training (neurology FMH and EEG certificate of competence) at the Center Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) in Lausanne. She then specialized in the field of cognitive neuropsychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College in London, UK. Back in Switzerland, she founded and managed an interdisciplinary program for patients with functional neurological disorders at the CHUV and the Hôpitaux Universitaire Genevois (Geneva), in close cooperation with the consultant and liaison psychiatric department. With its clinical and research activities, it is part of a well-developed national and international network.
