Dr. Selim Benbadis is a Professor of Neurology at the University of South Florida and Director of the USF/Tampa General Hospital Comprehensive Epilepsy Program, one of the busiest surgical epilepsy centers in Florida. He is board-certified in Neurology, Epilepsy, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Benbadis earned his medical degree from the University of Nice in France and completed his neurology residency and fellowship in epilepsy, EEG, and sleep medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. His clinical expertise focuses on the diagnosis and management of difficult-to-control seizures, epilepsy surgery, and the accurate diagnosis of seizure disorders, including the prevention of epilepsy misdiagnosis.
An accomplished educator and researcher, Dr. Benbadis has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He serves on several editorial boards, is a frequent faculty member at national and international educational programs, and has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching.
