Dr. Sebastien Godat graduated as a doctor from the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne in 2005. He then undertook a postgraduate training in internal medicine and intensive care at the Nyon Hospital, in Paris. CHUV, then at the Valais Hospital in Sion where he holds the position of Deputy Clinical Leader in the Intensive Care Unit. He joined the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the CHUV in 2010, where he completed his basic training until 2013. He obtained simultaneously his specialist titles in General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in 2013.

From 2013 to 2015, he stayed in the Oncology Medical-Surgical Exploration Unit at the Paoli-Calmettes Institute in Marseille, under the direction of Dr. Marc Giovannini, as a postdoctoral fellow in interventional endoscopy. He carries out specific training in diagnostic and therapeutic endosonography, as well as endoscopic management of digestive and hepatobiliary pathologies. His interests are also in clinical research in the field of interventional endoscopy, which has allowed him to publish and present his work at national and international conferences. He joined our Service as Head of Clinic in November 2015, where his activity focuses mainly on exploratory and interventional endoscopy.
