Dr. Sebastian Tong is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Population Health at Virginia Commonwealth University. He also serves as co-director of the Virginia Ambulatory Care Outcomes Research Network, a research collaborative network with over 300 primary care practices across the Commonwealth of Virginia. He conducts research addiction medicine, opioid prescribing and social determinants of health.
His clinical interests include the care of underserved populations, addiction medicine, and maternity care. He currently leads an integrated obstetrics addiction program in the Women’s Health clinic at VCU. He is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and received his research training at the Harvard School of Public Health prior to completing his residency in family medicine at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center.
