Sebastian G. de la Fuente, MD graduated from the University of Salvador school of Medicine in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He completed his general surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC and a surgery oncology fellowship at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. Dr. de la Fuente has written over 45 peer-reviewed journal articles and 17 book chapters. He was recently awarded The Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Award for his work on patients with esophageal cancer. His primary areas of clinical and research interests include minimally invasive approaches in hepatobiliary diseases including pancreatic oncology and gastrointestinal diseases.
