Sean O' Mahony MB, BCh, BAO, MS, FAAHPM

Dr. O’Mahony is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Section Chief of Palliative Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. He is an academic palliative medicine physician. His clinical, academic, and research interests include the management of pain in patients with chronic mental illnesses and opioid use disorder. His strengths include palliative medicine program development and evaluation across multiple organizational settings. His interests include inter-professional education in palliative care and resiliency promotion for clinicians working with patients with life-limiting illnesses. He has co-led multiple grant-supported workforce development programs. He has worked on CDC-funded efforts to advance best practices for the care of LGBT cancer patients and is conducting research on the needs of LGBT patients with life-limiting illnesses and families.
