Sean M. Weiss CHC, CEMA, CMCO, CPMA, CPC-P, CMPE, CPC

Sean M. Weiss is a Partner and serves as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of DoctorsManagement, a full scale practice managment and regulatory consultancy based in Knoxville, TN. Sean has worked in health care since 1996 in a variety of capacities and for some of the nations largest health systems. Sean became a certified coder in 1997 through the American Academy of Professional Coders and later earned his certification on the payor side. Sean holds certifications as a Compliance Officer and Advanced Coding Specialist in Evaluation and Management Services.

Sean is the former Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of DecisionHealth Professional Services, a DecisionHealth company and one of the founding members of The CMC Group, a full scale medical consulting, education and health law firm. Sean has multiple books in publication as an author and/or co-author under the CMC, MMI/Contexo and DecisionHealth brands. Sean served as a Compliance Officer and Senior Analyst for Tenet Health Systems of the southeast region in the late 90s with more than 80 facilities and 400 physicians reporting.

Sean served as a Physician Services Consultant and member of the ethics and compliance steering committee for Columbia/HCA. Sean worked with the government affairs department of HCA on deciphering complex regulatory issues. Sean had shared responsibility for content development and training for more than 1,100 employed and/or managed physicians of HCA. Sean has spent the last 8 years working with members of congress providing a voice for healthcare providers on key legislative issues. Sean has been published in numerous industry journals including: JAMA, Medical Economics, Part B News, BC Advantage, The Coding Edge, MGMA Connections, etc...
