Scott Demarest MD

Dr. Scott Demarest is a pediatric neurologist, epilepsy specialist, and physician-scientist at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado. He serves as Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology and is the Chief Precision Medicine Officer at Children’s Hospital Colorado, where he leads efforts to advance individualized therapies for children with neurological and genetic disorders.

Dr. Demarest specializes in pediatric epilepsy, neurogenetic conditions, and precision medicine, with a clinical and research focus on developing targeted treatments for rare neurological diseases. His work centers on characterizing the clinical features of genetic epilepsies, designing disease-modifying clinical trials, and translating emerging precision therapies into patient care.

Dr. Demarest earned his medical degree from The University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio and completed pediatric and child neurology training at Children’s National Medical Center/George Washington University. He later completed a fellowship in epilepsy at the University of Colorado and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Science from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
