Dr. Scott Lauer, MD, is a surgical pathologist and associate professor in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed medical school at Saint Louis University, followed by residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology and fellowships in soft tissue pathology and dermatopathology at Emory University. As a surgical pathologist at Nebraska Medicine, he serves on the Dermatopathology and Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology Service and enjoys teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. He served as Program Director for the UNMC Pathology Residency Program from 2019-2024, during which he held the James Linder Distinguished Residency Program Director Chair. He is also active in the College of American Pathologists, where he serves on the Cancer Committee in the melanoma and bone and soft tissue working groups.
