Scott Carlson, Ph.D., is an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Professor Or Gozani in the department of Biology at Stanford University. He received his undergraduate training in Chemistry at Stanford, then a Master’s degree in Computational Biology as a Gates Cambridge Scholar at Cambridge University, and his Ph.D. in Biological Engineering in the research group of Dr. Forest White at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Carlson has developed some of the first techniques that enable proteome-wide analysis of cellular signal transduction through lysine methylation. Prior to his postdoctoral work, Dr. Carlson used a combination of chemical biology and mass spectrometry to map kinase signaling pathways that regulate growth processes in cancer.
