Dr. Sayuri Jinadasa, MD, MPH, is an accomplished trauma surgeon and surgical critical care specialist with extensive experience in acute care and medical education. Born in Rahway, New Jersey, to Sri Lankan immigrant parents, she knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in medicine.

Dr. Jinadasa’s academic journey is distinguished by three Ivy League degrees — a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Princeton University, a Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.

Clinically, she is double board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and completed surgical critical care fellowship training at the Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland Medical Center. She practices complex trauma and emergency surgery and is known for her commitment to treating critically injured and ill patients.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Jinadasa is deeply involved in training the next generation of medical professionals. She holds faculty positions — including roles as Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery — and has created and instructed advanced courses in trauma management for medical students. Her scholarly contributions include multiple publications, presentations, and mentorship activities.
