Dr. Tateshima is fully trained in interventional neuroradiology, CNS endovascular surgery and endovascular neurosurgery. He specializes in acute stroke interventions, complex vascular malformation, carotid artery disease and brain aneurysm embolization using state-of-the-art, minimally invasive image-guided techniques. He has filed multiple patents on novel endovascular device coating and delivery systems. He is currently involved in multiple US approval studies of new endovascular devices. His research interests have focused on stroke, brain aneurysm, biorheology of brain aneurysm, brain vascular malformation and developing novel treatments for those diseases. He received multiple awards for his research from national and international scientific societies. He has 140 peer-reviewed publications and holds several research grants. Dr. Tateshima is also a professor of radiology and neurosurgery at UCLA.
