Satish Bhagwanjee MD

Dr. Bhagwanjee has clinical experience been in Trauma, Surgical and Cardio-thoracic intensive care. His research interests have been in outcome prediction and regional mechanisms for critical care delivery. He proposed a model for delivery of critical care in South Africa and established the Acute Care for Africa Research and Training program. He trained as an Anesthesiologist and Intensivist and was Head of Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Witwatersrand.

Dr. Bhagwanjee has multiple leadership positions. He served as President of the Critical Care Society of Southern Africa and received the Presidents’ Award of the same Society. He was elected to the Council of the WFSICCM and served as Secretary-General. He has been an advisor to the WHO and is a member of the GSA. He was accepted as a member of the AUA in 2010. In 2009 he was appointed to USCIIT where he is responsible for global outreach including InFact.
