Dr. Sary F. Aranki is a cardiac surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and an associate professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Aranki received his medical degree from the University of Baghdad College of Medicine. He completed several training programs in the United Kingdom: an emergency medicine residency at Guy’s Hospital, general surgery residencies at Midvale and Amersham Hospitals, as well as a cardiothoracic surgery residency and fellowship at Harefield Hospital. He then completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at BWH.

He specializes in aortic surgery, atrial fibrillation, congenital heart disease, connective tissue disease, and heart transplant surgery. The author of over 150 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Aranki’s clinical interests include surgical treatment for aortic aneurysms, aortic arch, ascending and descending aorta, congenital heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and valvular heart disease.
