Sarah Hampl MD, FAAP, DABOM

Dr. Sarah Hampl is the Kemper Endowed Professor for Healthy Lifestyles at Children’s Mercy Kansas City’s Center for Children’s Healthy Lifestyles & Nutrition and the University of MO-Kansas City School of Medicine. She provides clinical care and is the Director of Advocacy initiatives at the Center.

Dr. Hampl was the chair of the writing subcommittee for the American Academy of Pediatrics clinical practice guideline on childhood obesity. She leads a pediatric obesity healthcare professional learning collaborative through the University of Missouri Telehealth Network and, with colleagues, conducts federally funded research on family-based behavioral treatment in primary care, training of healthcare professionals in FQHCs and patient attrition from obesity treatment.
