Dr. Haessler is a Vice-Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Medicine at UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate and also an Associate Professor of Medicine at UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate. She received her medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine and completed her medicine and infectious diseases fellowship training at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Dr. Haessler has been an active SHEA member since 2006, has served on the education committee since 2012, and is the planning committee chairperson for the SHEA 2014 Spring Conference – Advancing Healthcare Epidemiology: Crisis & Controversies in Denver, CO. Dr. Haessler’s interests are in the utilization of large datasets to assess real-world practice and outcomes of nosocomial infections, and in the development of infection control networks to improve collaboration between facilities on a regional level.
