Sarah Billington BPharm(Hons)

Sarah Billington worked in healthcare my entire professional life. She started out as a hospital pharmacist but since then she has been very fortunate to have worked in many healthcare sectors, both in the UK and abroad. She had a substantial clinical career delivering and leading pharmacy services in community pharmacy, secondary care, and the independent healthcare sector.

She moved into healthcare regulation in 2003 and worked for the NCSI/Healthcare Commission for over 5 years, first as a pharmacy inspector and then as a senior assessment manager specializing in enforcement. In 2008 she was appointed as the Chief Inspector of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain on a 2-year fixed-term contract. In 2010 she was invited to be the Interim Chief Pharmaceutical Adviser to the General Pharmaceutical Council to provide support in the transitional period following their separation from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
