Dr. Sarah Ahmad is a neurologist and headache specialist who cares for patients with headache disorders. She has a special interest in the efficacy of lifestyle changes and alternative therapies for managing headaches.
In her research, Ahmad is involved in clinical trials – studies using human volunteers – to evaluate new headache therapies. She also conducts research in diversity and equity in health care, with a focus on microaggressions (verbal or nonverbal slights based on membership in a marginalized group). She is passionate about medical education and enjoys teaching trainees at all levels.
Ahmad earned her medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She completed a residency in neurology at Stanford University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in headache medicine at UCSF.
