Sarah Wattenberg worked for as an executive manager in behavioral health organizations for thirteen years, first as a director of community-based mental health treatment programs and later in the clinical policy division of one of the nations’ largest managed behavioral health care companies. In 2001, Ms. Wattenberg came to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration working in the areas of privacy, financing and service delivery, performance metrics, and electronic health records.
Since 2010, she served as the Sr. Advisor for Drug Policy to the Assistant Secretary for Health, and currently is on detail to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. Ms. Wattenberg graduated from New York University and received her Master’s in Social Work from Catholic University of America.
