Ms Calthorpe has been a Physiotherapist for nearly 15 years, graduating in the UK before working in New Zealand and then Australia. She has worked at The Alfred for the last 7 years specialising in trauma with a keen interest in early rehabilitation following traumatic injury, in which she has completed an RCT. Ms Calthorpe is involved in the RePAIR trial: Rehabilitation Prescription Allowing Improved Injury Recovery, a project within the Australia-India Trauma Systems Collaboration.

Ms Calthorpe has an interest in specific trauma physiotherapy education and has helped develop a trauma training manual for physiotherapists and is a joint convenor of the Basic Trauma Course for Physiotherapists, an annual program run through The Alfred Physiotherapy Department focussing on the education of junior Physiotherapists in the area of trauma. She is currently completing a Masters of Applied Science with her research topic “Trauma Physiotherapy”.
