Sanjeev Gupta PhD

Dr Sanjeev Gupta has done M.Sc. in applied microbiology and a Ph.D. in Microbial biotechnology. At present working as General Manager in Advanced Biotech Lab, Ipca Laboratories Ltd., Mumbai, and have established a new state-of-the-art Biotech R&D facility for the development of mammalian-based Biosimilar products.

He has around 17 years of industrial experience and has been working on the development of recombinant therapeutic proteins including monoclonal antibodies since he started his career. His core expertise lies in Molecular Biology, Cell Line, Upstream process development, Bio-analytical as well as GMP cell banking & characterization.

So far, he developed and contributed over ten recombinant molecules of which five Biosimilar products have been launched already in the Indian market and the rest are in the developmental or clinical phase and are expected to be launched shortly.

During his professional tenure, he worked in various positions in reputed Indian biopharmaceuticals industries Zydus-Ahmedabad, Wockhardt-Aurangabad, Panacea-New Delhi, Intas-Ahmedabad and at present in Ipca Laboratories, Mumbai. He presented his work at various national and international conferences such as IBC, Terrapin, IMAPAC, Biopharma AMI, etc. He has also published Patent, Book chapters, and Research articles in peer-reviewed Journals instead of Biosimilar development.
