Sanjay Sethi, MD is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He is also Attending Physician in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the Western New York Veterans Administration Healthcare System in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Sethi is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care.

Dr. Sethi received his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi, India. He did his postgraduate training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at SUNY, Buffalo, after completing his residency and internship in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Sethi's main research interests include the role of bacterial infection in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the development of vaccines effective against Moraxella catarrhalis and nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae.

Dr. Sethi has authored numerous articles in the fields of pulmonary disease and critical care in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Chest, Infection and Immunity, the Journal of Infectious Diseases, the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Clinical Microbiology Reviews, the American Review of Respiratory Disease, Clinical Pulmonary Medicine, and Postgraduate Medicine. He sits on the editorial board of Respiratory Research and is a reviewer for several journals, including the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
