Sandro Frati PhD

Sandro Frati is a Product Development Manager at Janssen EMEA, Antwerpen, Belgium. He was born and raised in Piedmont, North-Western Italy. During his career, he has had the chance to work on several aspects of biological control. He worked at the University of Torino focusing on post-harvest biocontrol in fruit and vegetables. He then earned a Ph.D. in entomology from the University of Bologna where he worked on Tuta absoluta and on the development of eco-friendly control strategies. After several years in academia, he moved to Belgium by joining BiPA, where he leads the new business development unit. In his role, he focuses on scouting and developing new biological active ingredients. He is also directly involved in the development of organic and integrated control strategies and in the valorization of novel biocontrol products.
