Sandra L. Staveski MS, PhD, RN, APRN, CPNP-AC

Sandra L. Staveski PhD, RN, APRN, CPNP-AC, is an assistant professor at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center within the UC Department of Nursing. She has over 25 years of clinical and teaching experience in cardiac critical care. She is junior faculty in the departments of Research in Patient Services and the Heart Institute. Dr. Staveski’s research is aimed at improving outcomes of children after cardiac surgery through preventing harm they may experience during hospitalization and at home. Her doctoral work focused on facilitating safe transition from hospital to home care for post-operative pediatric cardiac patients. Specially, it examined the effect of implementing a structured nurse-parent discharge education program in Southern India.
