Dr. Sandra Elmer is a consultant Urologist in Melbourne with a special interest in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, functional urology, urodynamics, and general urology. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery, Bachelor of Biomedical Science from the University of Melbourne in 2005, and completed her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Urology in 2016.
Dr. Elmer is based in East Melbourne at the Freemasons Hospital Medical Centre, consults at the Australian Prostate Cancer Research center, and has a public appointment at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Her role there includes multidisciplinary clinics in female, functional and neuro-urology. She manages young adults with complex urological problems, transitioned from the Royal Children's’ Hospital. She operates at Epworth Freemasons, Epworth Richmond, and Epworth Hawthorn.
Dr. Elmer has completed a 12-month fellowship at the Austin Hospital specializing in open and laparoscopic surgery (oncology, stones, reconstruction). She then completed post-fellowship training in Functional Urology at the RoyalMelbourne Hospital, specializing in neurourology, urodynamics, transition urology, and urogynaecology. She has also pursued overseas training with the world’s top Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgeons at the New York University Medical Centre.
