Sandra Dempsey

Sandra Dempsey is a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Andrew Love Cancer Centre (ALCC) Day Oncology, Barwon Health. She has worked in cancer nursing for over 20 years, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, surgical, outpatient clinics, palliative care and as a cancer nurse coordinator at the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre. More recently, she worked at the Cancer Council Victoria (CCV) on the Cancer Information and Support Service (CISS) Helpline which provides information and support to people affected by cancer, and also to health professionals caring for this group in the community and hospitals. Prior to joining the team at ALCC, she enjoyed the role of Manager for Education and Training in CISS which coordinates the Living with Cancer Education Program and the Victorian Cancer Clinicians Communication Program. Facilitators are trained to run these programs at many locations across Victoria for ready access in the community for people affected by cancer and the health professionals caring for them.
