Dr. Sandip Nandhra is an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He graduated from the Hull-York Medical School in 2008 and went on to complete his Doctor of Medical Sciences in 2017 with two MHRA-regulated randomized control trials. He has maintained a strong research interest with the overarching object to facilitate improvements in both clinical and patient-reported outcomes around the time of vascular surgery. His current interests include anemia and frailty along with an ongoing interest in venous disease. 

In 2018 he was appointed as the Royal College of Surgeons Associate Specialty lead for vascular research and co-steer of the James Lind Alliance Vascular Surgery Process. He is a core member of the Vascular and Endovascular Research Network (VERN) executive and has been co-leading the multi-national prospective COVER study. He is also a member of the National Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Program Research Board.

As well as a busy academic career he participates in undergraduate medical education and post-graduate education as part of the Masters in Vascular Ultrasound program. He holds both a Certificate in Medical Education (PGCME, Hull-York, 2010) and in Vascular Ultrasound (PGCDI, University of Leeds 2013).

His research interests are Vascular Surgery, Sclerotherapy, Endovenous Laser Treatment, Aortic Dissection, Inferior Vena Cava Filter, Ambulatory Phlebectomy, Dialysis Access Surgery, and Transplant Surgery.
