Dr. Sandip Mitra is a Consultant Nephrologist specializing in all aspects of kidney care and related illnesses. His NHS practice is at Manchester Royal Infirmary, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest Trust in the UK. He has undergone training in kidney centers in Oxford, Stevenage, London, and Manchester. He is elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, UK, and a member of the UK Renal Association. He is a part of the teaching faculty for training courses in Oxford, London and Manchester.
He is an appointed Honorary Professor of Medicine at the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University. In these roles, he supervises NIHR clinical research of high national priority for advancing kidney care and new emerging treatments. He also has various appointed UK and international leadership roles, primarily aimed at improving the quality of kidney care. He serves as a Trustee for the Greater Manchester Charity Kidneys for Life.
