Samuel Gidding MD

Dr. Samuel Gidding is the Cardiology Division Chief of the Nemours Cardiac Center. One of his primary responsibilities is the career development of junior faculty. He has prior experience as a cardiology fellowship director at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL, and also in mentoring junior faculty at the Nemours Cardiac Center. He has sat on NHLBI study sections and expert review committees related to congenital heart disease. Dr. Gidding has extensive research experience in clinical studies of congenital heart disease and cardiac imaging in children in addition to his work in preventive cardiology in clinical trials and epidemiologic research. In particular, he has participated in several key publications related to outcomes in single ventricle patients at the Nemours Cardiac Center.

Dr. Gidding has a long-standing interest in general pediatric cardiology. Historically, he participated in studies using echocardiography to evaluate cardiac disease and function and children and this interest continues. He has a special interest in Kawasaki disease, coarctation of the aorta, and natural history studies of congenital heart disease.
