Dr. Kratchman was born and raised in New York. He earned his B.S. degree in biology and D.M.D. degree from Tufts University in Boston, Mass. He received his Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he currently serves as an associate professor of endodontics and assistant director of graduate endodontics in charge of the microsurgical portion of the program.

He has authored several articles and chapters on endodontics and intentional replantation for the textbook Microsurgery in Endodontics and the journal Dental Clinics of North America. He also developed a patented instrument called the S-Kondenser for the obturation of root canals. He has been a District I director on the AAE Board of Directors and has been honored as the cover story in the “Best of Issues” for the magazines Main Line Today and Doctor of Dentistry.

Dr. Kratchman lectures on several topics in endodontics throughout the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, South America and Asia. He also maintains three private practices limited to endodontics in Exton, Ardmore and West Chester, Pa.
