Dr. Sampeter Odera is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon who graduated from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2008 and the UC San Francisco School of Medicine in 2012. He completed his residency at UCSF in 2014, and a fellowship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia in 2015. The focus of his fellowship training was orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, and arthroscopy. While in Nova Scotia he was trained in surgical planning and techniques developed by Dr. Jean Delaire and David Precious, both pioneers in the field of orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Odera has also completed a competitive Howard Hughes Research Fellowship studying the role of Bone Marrow Stem Cells (BMSCs) in craniofacial regeneration. His current research interests include cardiac markers for obstructive sleep apnea and genetic regulation of odontogenic tumors/cysts.
