Samilia Obeng-gyasi MD

Dr. Samilia Obeng-Gyasi is an assistant professor of surgery at the IU School of Medicine. She earned her B.S. in biology from Indiana University Bloomington and her M.D. from the University of Michigan. She completed her general surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic and a Society of Surgical Oncology-accredited breast surgery fellowship at Duke University.

Due to her interest in health services research, after finishing her residency, she completed a master’s degree in public health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health with a concentration in quantitative research methods. Her research is focused on improving health care delivery and understanding socioeconomically based health care disparities among patients presenting with breast disease.
