Sami Ibrahimi, MD is an assistant professor of medicine in the section of Hematology and Oncology. Ibrahimi specializes in treating blood cancers, including lymphoma and leukemia. He also co-leads the skin lymphoma clinic with Dr. Jarad Levin from OU dermatology

He plays a key role in developing the hematologic malignancy activities for the cancer center’s involvement in the national precision medicine consortium ORIEN. ORIEN allows clinicians and researchers to leverage multiple data sources and match patients to promising new cancer treatments targeted specifically to a patient’s tumor.

With research interests in Lymphoma, platelet disorders, and immunotherapy, Ibrahimi has authored and co-authored more than a dozen peer-reviewed publications and presented at several national and international conferences. In 2017, he was awarded the Conquer Cancer Foundation Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, recognizing high-quality scientific research abstracts at their annual meeting.

Ibrahimi completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Stephenson Cancer Center and a master of science in clinical and translational research at the OU Health Sciences Center. Prior to this training, he completed an internal medicine residency at Baystate/Tufts University School of Medicine in Springfield, Massachusetts. Ibrahimi earned his medical degree at the University of Jordan Faculty of Medicine in Jordan.
