Samer G. Mattar MD, FACS, FRCS, FASMBS, ABOM

Dr. Mattar is Medical Director at Swedish Medical Center. Formerly, he was Professor of Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University. He is also President of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and the Vice-President of the Fellowship Council. He has been actively serving on ASMBS committees since 2003. His practice is entirely bariatric in nature and his main clinical interests are in the area of standardizing pathways and optimizing patient outcomes. He has published numerous articles and book chapters in the field and he enjoys teaching and advocating for his patients.
