Sameh El-saharty MBBCh, MPH

Sameh El-Saharty is Program Leader in the Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice of the World Bank in Washington, DC. Since he joined the Bank in 1998, he has been responsible for leading the health policy dialog and strategy development for client countries as well as managing several programs and projects amounting to about $2.5 billion in more than 20 countries in three world regions. His experience spans a wide range of health programs and systems including maternal and child health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, health service delivery, hospital management, human resources, decentralization, health insurance and health reform. In the last couple of years, he has been working on cross cutting issues such as knowledge management, implementation research, and science of delivery in the health sector.
