Dr. Sameer Dixit is assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery, medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include musculoskeletal injuries to joints, medical care of athletes, acute and overuse injuries, fractures, running injuries, and skiing and snowboarding injuries. Dr. Dixit obtained his undergraduate degree in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. Dixit completed an internal medicine residency program at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. He then completed a two-year fellowship in primary care sports medicine from UCLA.

Prior to coming to Johns Hopkins, Dr. Dixit was the interim head team physician at the University of California, Berkeley. He provided physician support and team coverage for 27 Division 1 athletic teams including basketball, football, baseball, soccer, track & field, tennis, rugby, lacrosse, volleyball, gymnastics, rowing, water polo and softball. His research interests focus on the comprehensive medical care of athletes. Dr. Dixit is an associate team physician for the Johns Hopkins University Department of Athletics. Board certified in both internal medicine and sports medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Dixit is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Physicians and the American Road Race Medical Society.
