Samar Al Homoud

Professor Al Homoud is Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is one of the first Saudi females to practice colorectal surgery. Since 2012 she has also been Honorary Visiting Consultant Surgeon at St Marks Hospital in the UK.

Professor Samar is a member of the Advisory Board of the CanScreen5 project run by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC/WHO) and is the first person from the Middle East region to hold the position of Chair of the Ethics Committee at the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization. In 2017 Professor Samar was listed as one of the 100 most influential Saudi women “who are creating change”.
