Samantha Quaife BSc, MSc, PhD

Samantha achieved a first class BSc honours degree in Psychology from the University of Leeds in 2008 and went on to complete a MSc (Distinction) in Health Psychology in 2011 at King's College London and University College London. She joined UCL in 2012 as a Research Assistant in Cancer Screening working with Professor Jane Wardle at the Cancer Research UK Health Behaviour Research Centre.

She was subsequently awarded a Medical Research Council PhD studentship to investigate the socioeconomic, attitudinal and smoking-related factors underlying non-participation in lung cancer screening by high risk groups. She completed her PhD in September 2016 and was appointed as a Research Psychologist within the Cancer Communication and Screening Group of the new Department of Behavioural Science and Health. In 2017, she was awarded a Cancer Research UK Population Research Postdoctoral Fellowship to investigate uptake of lung cancer screening among high-risk groups and harness psychological targets for intervention.
