Samannaaz Khoja is a research assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy. She received her PT degree from Seth G.S. Medical College in Mumbai, India, before coming to the University of Pittsburgh to pursue a Master's level and Doctoral Degree in Health and Rehabilitation Science. Her research interests include examing the role of physical activity on cardiometabolic health and physical function in adults with chronic conditions, and understanding utilization patterns for PT/rehabilitation services in healthcare settings.

Her current research projects focus on leveraging large datasets such as electronic medical records to understand the barriers to the delivery of evidence-based treatments, and informed decisions to improve the access to PT-rehabilitative services. She also is involved in teaching activities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She teaches Intro to Evidence-based Rehabilitation and Intro to Research Methods for the Undergraduate Rehabilitation Science Program and helps teach Human Anatomy and Evidence-based core courses in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Programs.
