Salma Al-Khani is the Medication Safety Officer in King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, Riyadh Saudi Arabia; she received her Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy from King Saud University. On May 2007, she received her Master Degree in Health and Hospital administration from King Saud University. Then she completed her Medication/ Patient Safety Program in the Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas on April 2009, In addition to Medication Safety training program in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, USA on October 2011. Ms. Al-Khani Joined King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center on 1995, During This period she served in different positions in KFSH&RC Pharmacy Division such as IV Room, Intensive Care Satellite Pharmacy, Cardiac Surgery Satellite Pharmacy, Bone Marrow Transplant Satellite Pharmacy, and Oncology Outpatient Pharmacy. She was assigned as a Medication Safety Officer on February 2007.

In addition, she works as a Pharmacy Surveyor in the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institution (CBAHI). Salma is the initiator and the director the “Medication Safety Officer Preparatory Course” providing several sessions in this course. Currently she teaches a medication safety subject to the graduate level in Riyadh College of Pharmacy. She was engaged in several lectures and presentations related to the medication safety field locally and internationally, In addition, she has several medication safety researches and publications in reputable journals and multiple oral and poster presentations in several conferences and symposium worldwide.
