Salim Yusuf MD, DPhil, MRCP

Dr. Salim Yusuf, MD DPhil (Oxford) is Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics at McMaster University; Director of the Population Health Research Institute, McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences; and Vice-President of Research and Chief Scientific Officer, Hamilton Health Sciences.

As the director of the Population Health Research Institute, Dr. Salim Yusuf founded and has since proudly led the world renowned research institute in 1999. Dr. Yusuf was previously the Director of the Preventive Cardiology and Therapeutics Research Program at the Hamilton Civic Hospitals Research Centre founded in 1992 from which the PHRI evolved. Dr. Yusuf is currently a Professor of Medicine at McMaster University as well as the endowed Chair for Cardiovascular Research for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
