Dr. Salih Sinan Gültekin is an Associate Professor and Chief of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the Kastamonu School of Medicine, Hacettepe University. Also, he has been directing the Nuclear Medicine Division of Dışkapı Training and Research Hospital, Ministry of Health for seven years as the founder and chief of the section. He lives in Ankara, Turkey.

He earned his medical degree from the Ondokuz Mayıs School of Medicine in 1998 and he spent postgraduate training in medicine at different centers in Turkey. After research and training activities for four years, he took the nuclear medicine specialist degree from the nuclear medicine department of Ankara University in 2007. He became the Assistant Professor in 2013 and then Associate Professor in 2014.

As a Nuclear Medicine Physician, Dr. Gültekin has a special interest in the field of thyroid cancer, oncological radionuclide imaging, and therapy, conventional nuclear medicine, intraoperative gamma probe applications, molecular imaging with hybrid systems (SPECT/CT, PET/CT, PET/MRI) and preclinical studies (small animal imaging). In addition to his physician role, he has served as a scientist, researcher and team leader for several scientific and governmental groups for radiation protection, strategic planning, and management, and health policy issues.

Dr. Gultekin is the author of approximately 50 publications in the national and international areas concerning his clinical and investigative work. His research has primarily focused on thyroid cancer, radiation protection, and small animal imaging. Dr. Salih Sinan Gültekin is a member of advisory boards for journals as well as on national and international evaluation committees. He is still a member of the "European Association of Nuclear Medicine" and "The Turkish Society of Nuclear Medicine".
