Salem Alharthi is a Consultant General and HPB surgeon at Almafraq hospital in Abu Dhabi since November 2013, Obtained undergraduate medical degree (MB. BCh. BAO and LRCSPI) from the royal college of surgeon in Ireland in 1999 did internship at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin 1999-2000,worked as a house officer in Abu Dhabi hospital and obtained MRCS degree from royal college of surgeons in Glasgow in 2003 and from the royal college of surgeons in Ireland in 2004. He moved to Groote Schuur hospital in Cape Town, South Africa in 2006 and obtained fellowship of the college of the surgeon of South Africa in 2010. He appointed as a junior consultant in the surgical oncology unit for 6 months then started the acute surgery care unit in Groote Schuur hospital then did a two years fellowship in HPB/GI surgery and was awarded subspecialty Certificate in Surgical Gastroenterology from the College of Surgeons of South Africa in May 2013and Clinical Fellowship in HPB surgery.
