Dr. Saleh S. Baeesa, MD, FRCSC, is an internationally-recognized Professor and Consultant Neurosurgeon with extensive clinical, academic, and research experience in neurological surgery. He currently serves as a senior faculty member in the Division of Neurosurgery at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and is a Professor of Neurosurgery at the Faculty of Medicine, King Abdulaziz University (KAU).

Dr. Baeesa earned his medical degree from King Abdulaziz University and completed his neurosurgical training in Canada, receiving his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC, 1997), followed by a Fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (1998). He is also board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

On returning to Saudi Arabia in 1998, Dr. Baeesa established the neurosurgery service and later the neurosurgical training program at King Abdulaziz University Hospital. He continued his leadership in neurosurgical services by developing the neurosurgery division at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in 2021. His clinical expertise spans brain tumor surgery, epilepsy surgery, spine surgery, pediatric and vascular neurosurgery.

Dr. Baeesa has an extensive research portfolio with hundreds of publications in peer-reviewed journals, contributions to scientific books and chapters, and editorial roles in neurosurgical and spine journals. He frequently presents at national and international conferences and is involved in professional societies such as the Middle East Spine Society and the Pan Arab Neurosurgical Society.
